Organic farro. Farro is an ancient grain that originated in the Mediterranean and is still widely eaten there today. Similar to wheat berries or spelt, farro has a wonderfully nutty flavor that works well as a side dish, in soups or eaten cold in salads. 1 pound.
Cooking Instructions:
(1 cup farro to 3 cups water or stock, makes about 2 cups cooked)
Rinse and drain farro. Place in a pot and add enough water or stock to cover. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 30 minutes. Drain off any excess water.
Quick cooking tip: Cover farro with water and soak overnight in the refrigerator. Place in a pot and add enough water or stock to cover. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium low and simmer 10 minutes. Drain off any excess water.
